Herrenchiemsee Palace Germany Poster

SKU: D0033 Category: Tag:

The Herrenchiemsee Palace poster depicts the complex of royal buildings located on Herreninsel, the largest island in the Chiemsee lake.  You can find it just southeast of Munich.  The island itself, was purchased by King Ludwig II in 1873.  He built his residence there (known today as the Old Palace or Altes Schloss).  Then in 1878 he started to build another palace (Herrenchiemsee Palace) which was based on the model of Versailies.  It was one of the largest buildings he had made and to date, has never been completed.

The Herrenchiemee is one of the largest tourist attractions in Germany.  This poster makes a great souvenir gift for anyone that has visited the Herrenchiemsee Palace.
