Fit & Sizing

Alpine hats are sized by head circumference in centimeters, and this hat is offered in a full range from 54 to 62 cm. To find your size, run a soft tape measure around your head just above the ears and across the middle of your forehead, where the hat will sit, and match that to the size in centimeters. If you land between sizes, the wool has a little natural give and will mold gently to your head with wear, so most people choose the nearer measurement.

These hats are unisex, sized purely by head measurement rather than by men’s or women’s sizing, so anyone can wear them — just match your measurement to the centimeter size.

Our hats are sized by head circumference in centimeters. To find your size, wrap a soft tape measure around your head about 1 cm above your eyebrows and over your ears, and match the measurement to the cm size below. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger.

Care

This hat is dry clean only — never wash it in water, which will distort the wool and ruin the shape. For everyday upkeep, brush the wool lightly with a soft hat brush, always in one direction. To lift lint or dust, wrap a piece of tape around your hand, sticky side out, and pat it gently over the surface — it clears away what a brush leaves behind. If the hat catches rain, let it dry naturally on its crown or a hook rather than the brim so it holds its shape, and store it somewhere cool and dry, away from direct heat. Treated this way, it will keep its form for many years.
