About This Baking Angels Pyramid
Most pyramids put their scene inside an open arch. This Richard Glaesser baking angels pyramid does something different — it builds an entire half-timbered bakery house around the scene, complete with a working chimney, and the result is one of the most architecturally interesting and genuinely story driven pyramids we carry.
Inside the open archways of the bakery, four angel figures go about the business of Christmas baking with real purpose. One angel pulls something fresh from a glowing brick oven set into the back wall. Another rolls dough at a small wooden table beside a hanging lantern. A third stirs something in a bowl near a wooden paddle, the kind used for sliding things in and out of a hot oven. A fourth sits just outside the bakery on the ground, working with her own small project, slightly apart from the others but clearly part of the same busy household. Small painted gingerbread cookies — a star and a heart — sit on the round platform near the angels’ feet, the finished proof of all this activity.
The bakery building itself is a wonderful piece of miniature half-timber construction, with dark brown crossed beams set against a lighter wood facade in the traditional fachwerk pattern found throughout German towns. A real glass style window with dark trim sits above the archway, and the steeply pitched roof is trimmed along both edges with a band of small gold painted stars, giving the whole structure a festive edge without overwhelming the architectural detail beneath it. A small evergreen tree stands beside the bakery on the round base, its bottle brush style branches frosted as though just arrived from outside in the cold.
A tall chimney rises from the center of the roof, and it is here rather than in a separate arch that the mechanism lives — the propeller blades sit directly above the chimney, cut through with star shaped openings that let candlelight show through as the pyramid turns. Below, the scalloped wood base has a soft curved edge, with two tea light candle cups set into recessed circles near the front.
This is how a Weihnachtspyramide works, and a bakery scene like this one makes the whole tradition feel especially alive: lit tea light candles send rising heat up through the chimney to the star cut propeller blades above, which turns the central spindle and rotates the bakery’s round platform below — four angels circling slowly through their kitchen, baking away exactly as German families have watched happen on their tables for generations.

Power & Operation
This baking angels pyramid is powered by candlelight. Place lit German tea light candles (#36-3813 or #12-3815-P) in the cups on the base — the rising heat travels up through the chimney to the star cut propeller blades above, which rotates the central spindle and turns the bakery scene below. No batteries or electricity required. Always supervise lit candles and never leave a burning pyramid unattended.
