German Nutcrackers

Nutcrackers have been around for well over 300 years and started in the Erzgebirge region of Germany. They are one of the most traditional types of German gifts given especially at Christmas time. They made their way into the United States during WWII when soldiers would buy these figures to bring home to their families. The nutcrackers represented strength and were considered good luck charms, protecting families from evil spirits.

Today, nutcrackers are made in many different regions of Germany and come in many different varieties and styles. They are hand-crafted with incredible attention to detail and the quality workmanship Germany has become known for all over the world.
